Our next meeting on November 17th will feature a visit from Dr. Jay Shelton of Warnell, and a presentation by Hayley Glassic (photo above), a senior graduating in December 2014. Hayley is the secretary for the University of Georgia chapter of the American Fisheries Society. In summer 2013 she worked as a fisheries technician at a Pacific salmon hatchery in Alaska, and this past summer was a native trout conservation intern in Yellowstone National Park. Her senior thesis explores the efficacy of brook trout habitat restoration in the Chattahoochee National Forest. Hayley was the recipient of the fall 2014 Trout Unlimited coldwater fisheries scholarship and will be presenting on her past experiences in Alaska and Yellowstone.
And as a special treat for our members, bring some cash for door prize tickets, because the big prize of the night will be one of Randy Elmore’s rods, a gently used TFO Finesse Series 5wt 4pc fly rod. It’s a beautiful deep green, 8’9″ in length, and comes with the TFO velvet sock and a cordura nylon tube case. Perfect for fall on the Chattooga!
See you there,
